Permitting process
We are working with the U.S. Coast Guard (Coast Guard) and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Maritime Administration (MARAD) to obtain approval to construct our facility through the Deepwater Port Licensing Process.
We will also work with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration fisheries, and the State of Louisiana to obtain additional required permits before we start construction.
On March 30, 2022, we submitted our application to MARAD and Coast Guard for a Deepwater Port License to construct, own, operate, and eventually decommission the proposed project.
On April 25, 2022, MARAD and Coast Guard published a Notice of Application, announcing that our application had been received, in Federal Register.
On April 26, 2022, MARAD and Coast Guard published a Notice of Intent, announcing a forthcoming virtual public scoping meeting and opportunities for stakeholders to provide feedback on the application, in Federal Register.
