Benefits

Environmental benefits

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is odorless, colorless, non-corrosive, non-combustible and non-toxic. It’s significantly better for the environment and for our health – a difference you can see.

The polluted emissions from coal- and oil-burning power plants – like in the before picture – are associated with pervasive human health concerns and the related consequences of hospitalization and premature death.

LNG is better for the environment because it produces less pollutants – less nitrogen oxide, less carbon dioxide, nearly no sulfur dioxide or fine particulate matter – really, fewer emissions of just about every kind. Those are add-ons you and your community can live without.

And, as a proven complement to renewable power options, LNG is helping make our sustainably sourced energy future increasingly viable.

It’s simple. LNG is cleaner and safer for the environment – and better for the people breathing that air every day.

Economic benefits

LNG isn’t just better for the environment – it’s better for your wallet, too.

LNG is more affordable and demonstrates greater price stability than other fuel sources. On average, our customers save 25% to 50%¹ by switching to LNG from oil-based fuels.

Building, managing, supplying and operating a facility this size takes a large workforce. Jobs will be created in the following categories:

The project will sustain jobs in your community throughout its lifetime.

Community benefits

We believe that investing in the communities we serve is the right thing to do.

Through our foundation we provide funding and aid to help support students’ dreams:

We’re proud to support students and schools in the communities we serve, as well as youth STEM programs that help students find innovative ways to create positive energy and a brighter world.

We’ve also expanded our reach through relief efforts focused on food security, health, wellness and online access to education.

¹Based on current customers or the indicated customer’s reported estimates of savings in US dollars (in the case of savings and financial metrics) and NFE management’s project timeline from contract execution to gas being made available for commissioning (in the case of implementation). There can be no assurance that other customers or future customers will achieve similar results and actual results could differ materially. The results of any particular customer are not representative of the results of customers as a whole, and as our operating history is limited, past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results and should not be relied upon for any reason.
